Mark and Matthew Jacob are very pleased to have worked with RICK TUMA as their book's illustrator. Rick is a multi-talented artist who easily moves among illustrations, cartooning, multimedia visuals and design.
During his tenure at the Chicago Tribune, Rick has collected more than ten awards from the Society of Newspaper Design. As a cartoonist he was the first-place winner of a Lisagor Award in the editorial cartoonist category of the SNJ Chicago Headliners Association in 2002. He did a three-year stint as the featured cartoonist and occasional writer of the Chicago Tribune’s daily political strip, Clout St.
Rick lives in West Chicago, Illinois, with his wife and far too many dogs and cats. If Rick had been born as a toy, he would have been Mr. Potato Head because of his love for all things potatoes.
